Fashion Research for Front Cover
I looked into the fashion of the lead singer for Arctic Monkeys by selecting recent images of him. I did this so I was able to see what fashion he dresses by so I could apply this to my model on my front cover when photographing him again. I like the fashion of these images as they all include a crisp black suit with a black tie which I will make my model dress in so he corresponds with the expected fashion of the music genre. I also chose images which included a jacket over the top of the black suit as I believe this is a good fashion for the appearance of my magazine. I especially like the third picture and I believe this is the image I will follow when dressing and photographing my model in terms of clothing. But I prefer the hair style from the first two pictures so I will use this when getting my model ready.
Why I named my magazine Douvan and Hand Drawn Drafts
I chose the word ‘Douvan’ for the title of my magazine because my friend Billy influenced me with the name of his favorite race horse. After playing around with the word and having it in my mind I decided to do some research on the meaning. After doing some looking into the word ‘Adolescent’ from the famous indie rock band Arctic Monkeys, ‘Fluorescent Adolescent’ I came across some Adolescent research performed by a researcher named ‘Elizabeth Douvan Gold’. When coming across this name I took it into consideration as an idea for my magazine name as I believe this name sounds mysterious and sharp just like the genre and the model I intend to photograph. This will go well with the mysteriousness of the image of the model and the sharpness of their clothing.

Final Front Cover After Analysis
When analysing my final front cover I realise there were still several faults with it. The main problem was that everything wasn't alligned which took the formal format of a magazine away from my front cover, but i fixed this in order to make it appear more formal. I then also rezised the barcode and also alligned this with the text as to start with the barcode was hanging on the side of the magazine edge and the edge of the girl on the front cover's cardigan. When making these minor adjustments I believe that it improved the magazine massively. Also after desiging and going through the development stage of my front cover I proceeded to play around and edit the font for the title of the magazine. I decided that the white writing with the marroon outline fitted the magazine front cover more and i also took away the underlining as this did not look good.

Before and After Photoshop
Here I am showing the before and after of the photograph I chose for the front cover of the magazine. I used Photoshop clone tool to improve the photograph to be magazine-like as I used it to remove her blemishes and I also used it to remove the distraction of the toggle around her wrist and the nose piercing on the right side of her nose. I did this as they bring attention away from her face and do not go well in the photograph, this also allows her to look like she is in more formal uniform without random toggle round her wrist and the piercing. I also adjusted the saruration of her which allowed her to stand out more against the background. I also used the Photoshop clone tool to remove the bin on the bottom left hand side, I did this as this was very distracting and did not look good on the photograph.
